Otters Receive Two Players
September 15, 2009, Evansville, IN – The Evansville Otters received news today that they would be receiving two players from the Rockford Riverhawks, now members of the Northern league, as part of the trade that sent second baseman Javier Brown north on August 7th. The Otters will be adding a player who is tied for fourth in the all-time Riverhawks list for home runs.
Brandon Cohen and Ross McCoy will be staying in the Frontier League as the Riverhawks join the Northern League and moving down to Evansville for the 2010 season. Cohen his .310 with 7 home runs and 30 RBI in 48 games with the Riverhawks this year. McCoy hit .283 with 5 home runs and 44 RBI is 83 games for Rockford during the 2009 season.
Since Brown was sent up to Rockford on August 7, he only appeared in 5 games and went 3-21 with the Riverhawks.
