Evansville took the first game of the series behind a strong pitching performance of Luc Rennie who tossed seven innings in the 5-2 win.
Schaumburg won the second game 6-4 as they bested Otters start Austin Nicely.
For the rubber match, Evansville will turn to Ty Hensley who will be making his second start of the season. Hensley is 0-0 with a 10.80 ERA and seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings. In Hensley’s first start, he threw four innings and gave up two runs against the Gateway Grizzlies on June 7.
Opposing Hensley will be Gunnar Kines for Schaumburg. Kines has a 1-1 record with a 4.02 ERA this year. In 15.2 innings season, the lefty has struck out 10 batters and walked seven.

Evansville will return to Bosse Field June 15-17 for a three-game set against the Traverse City Beach Bums. The weekend series is highlighted by Boys and Girls Club Weekend with Evan the Otter’s birthday and Superhero Night on Friday, postgame fireworks Saturday and Family Fun Day with the family package available on Sunday.
