EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Evansville Otters finish a brief three-game home stand seeking a sweep of the River City Rascals on Thursday at Bosse Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

Thursday is also the return of fan-favorite Bud Light Thirsty Thursday, where 16 oz. drafts are $2 and 32 oz. drafts are $4.

Evansville (9-8) won Wednesday 13-6 to provide the opportunity for a sweep of the Rascals in the 2016 FLCS rematch. Through the first two games in the series, Evansville has outscored River City 20-9.

The Otters’ power offense has been the main story so far. Dane Phillips had three home runs in Tuesday’s 7-3 victory for Evansville and on Wednesday, there were two more home runs.

Jeff Gardner hit a grand slam for his third home run of the season as he finished 3 for 4 with six RBIs. Brandon Soat hit a two-run home run for his second home run of 2017 as well.

Evansville is tied with Traverse City for the league lead in home runs with 20.

On the mound, Evansville will give the ball to right-hander Hasten Freeman for his first start of the season on Thursday.

Freeman has made five relief appearances this season for Evansville. He has accumulated seven strikeouts while allowing four hits in 5 2/3 innings pitched.

River City (8-9) will have left-hander Dan Ludwig start on Thursday, looking to salvage a win out of the series.

Ludwig has averaged six innings pitched per game through three starts this season. He has also posted a 1.96 ERA and tallied 11 strikeouts.

Fans can listen live on 91.5 FM WUEV and watch on the Otters Digital Network. Lucas Corley (play-by-play) and Bill McKeon (analysis) along with Preston Leinenbach will provide coverage.

Tickets are still available by going to evansvilleotters.com or calling 812-435-8686.

The Otters return to Bosse Field Tuesday, June 6, when Evansville plays the Windy City Thunderbolts and hosts Teacher Appreciation Night powered by the Pubic Education Foundation of Evansville. On June 7, it’s Deaconess Nursing Home Night and another poster giveaway to the first 1,000 fans. The series finale June 8 is Working Distributors Night and another Bud Light Thirsty Thursday.

The Evansville Otters are the 2006 and 2016 Frontier League champions. Group packages and single game tickets are now on sale. For more information, visit evansvilleotters.com or call 812-435-8686.
