PREVIEW: Otters face Thunderbolts on Deaconess Nursing Home Night

The Evansville Otters will look to snap a three-game skid on Wednesday against the Windy City Thunderbolts. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Wednesday is Deaconess Nursing Home Night at Bosse Field and the first 1,000 fans will receive a collectible poster celebrating past decades at the ballpark.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters will look to snap a three-game skid on Wednesday against the Windy City Thunderbolts. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

Wednesday is Deaconess Nursing Home Night at Bosse Field and the first 1,000 fans will receive a collectible poster celebrating past decades at the ballpark.

Evansville (10-12) fell to Windy City Tuesday 11-4 in the series opener as the Thunderbolts enjoyed back-to-back-to-back three-run innings in the fifth, sixth and seventh.

Evansville’s Brandon Soat hit a solo home run for his fourth of the season and the Otters lead the Frontier League in home runs with 26 as a team.

Alejandro Segovia had the other big base hit for the Otters with a two-run RBI double.

Overall, the Otters tallied 13 hits in Tuesday’s game with four players posting multi-hit games.

Heading into Wednesday, John Schultz has put together an eight-game hitting streak and Josh Allen is batting .474 over the last six games.

Getting the start on the mound for Evansville on Wednesday will be right-hander Hasten Freeman.

Freeman made his first start of the season last Thursday against the River City Rascals, taking a no decision in five innings pitched. Freeman only allowed one run off four hits and he struck out five.

Windy City (15-7) will start left-hander Brady Muller. Muller is making his fifth start of the season and he is 3-1 with a 1.70 ERA in 26 1/3 innings.
