TRAVERSE CITY, Mich.- The Evansville Otters will look to claim the series on Saturday against the Traverse City Beach Bums.

Evansville (12-13) opened up the series yesterday with a 6-3 win over the Beach Bums behind a 15-hit performance.

Traverser City (12-13) will look to get their offense going just one day after 19 of their final 20 batters were retired.

Traverse City’s Steve Patterson gave the Beach Bums two of their runs on a two run home run.

The Otters, who lead the league in home runs, were not able to hit a long ball yesterday in pitcher friendly Wuerfel Park.

However, the Otters did tally four doubles and a triple in the offensive explosion.

The Otters will give Saturday’s start to Shane Weedman.

Weedman has struggled with walking batters. He has walked 21 in 26 and 2/3 innings this season.
