TRAVERSE CITY, Mich.- The Evansville Otters will look for their first sweep of the season against the Traverse City Beach Bums.
Evansville (13-13) has dominated in the first two games of the series offensively.
The Otters have posted 27 runs on 38 hits through the opening two contests.
Traverse City (12-14) has seen their pitching struggle with neither starter going further than the third inning.
Evansville’s 23 hits last night were the most by a Frontier League team this season.
The 21-run performance included six home runs by five different players, four of which were three run blasts.
The Otters will look for the sweep behind Felix Baez in his sixth start of the year.
Baez has looked strong early this season posting 38 strikeouts to date and going five or more innings in each start.
Baez did give up a season high seven earned runs in his last start against Windy City on Tuesday in a loss.
Traverse City will look to steal a win behind Kramer Champlin.
Champlin will be the first right hander the Otters have seen this series.
He boasts the lowest ERA on the Beach Bums and has won each of his last three starts.
Last time out Champlin threw a complete game giving up just one run in a 9-1 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies.
First pitch is slated for 4:05 p.m. CT at Wuerfel Park.
