EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters return to Bosse Field Tuesday for a three-game series against the Lake Erie Crushers. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
Tuesday’s series opener is Olympic Day and $2 Tuesday at the ballpark. General admission tickets and select concession items are just $2.
Evansville (13-14) won two of three games at Traverse City over the weekend, utilizing offensive power in the process.
The Otters hit seven home runs during the series, including six in the 21-6 win over the Beach Bums on Saturday.
The 21 runs tied a season high this year in the Frontier League and the 23 hits also set a new league season high.
Evansville outscored Traverse City 30-20 while out hitting the Beach Bums 48-32.
In three games against Traverse City, Evansville’s Dane Phillips went 9 for 15 with two home runs, nine RBIs and he scored four times. Phillips also recorded his first triple of the season in the series.
Phillips continues to lead the team in multi-hit games with 16, and he has two games with five or more RBIs. With two home runs at Traverse City, Phillips now leads the Frontier League with nine home runs.
Right-hander Max Duval will take the mound for the Otters Tuesday. Duval earned the win last Thursday in Evansville’s 6-5 victory against Windy City, allowing two runs in eight innings.He also struck out 10 batters for the second time this season.
Lake Erie (12-15) has not announced a starter for Tuesday’s game.
The Crushers are led offensively by Sean Hurley, who has 10 doubles, four home runs and 16 RBIs this season. Cody Lenahan leads the team with six home runs and he also has 13 RBIs.
