OTTERS ADD ANOTHER TO ROSTER

Matthew Maher is the most recent addition to the Evansville Otters 2010 team. Maher is a right handed outfielder from Peekskill, N.Y. A recent graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, N.J., Maher hit .339 during his senior year and led the team with 30 stolen bases.
The four-year college standout broke FDU’s all-time record for most hits (201) and stolen bases (71). Maher also posted a 3.9 GPA as a Communications major and was named an ESPN First Team Academic All-American.
“I feel extremely fortunate to be given the opportunity to play professional baseball,” said Maher. “I am so thankful for the constant guidance and support FDU has given to me. I am even more grateful for playing under Coach (Jerry) DeFabbia, who believed in me, constantly worked with me to get better and never gave up on me. I felt so proud to tell him that I signed the contract to play in the Frontier League. I am very excited to take on this challenge and pursue my dream.”
