02/16/2010 10:04 AM - Reece Gorman, the Otters’ popular backup catcher, has decided to retire. Gorman, a first-team Division II All-West Region choice from Metro State University of Denver, hit .187 in 32 games with Evansville in 2009. Gorman hit three home runs and drove in seven runs with the Otters. His two-out hit in the ninth inning of Evansville’s 6-5 win at Washington on July 12 capped a four-run rally.
Gorman’s season ended prematurely when he was placed on the disabled list on July 29.
Currently employed at a halfway house in Denver, Gorman plans to become a police officer after completing his criminal justice degree at Metro State. |
