Otters lose on walk off wild pitch 8-7

(FLORENCE, Ky) – The Florence Freedom came back from a three run deficit in the 8th inning to tie the game and scored another run on a wild pitch in the 9th inning to defeat the Evansville Otters 8-7.
Evansville and Florence traded the lead over the first few innings.
The Freedom pulled ahead 1-0 and the Otters rallied back in the top of the second inning with an RBI single from Jon Waltenbury and another run on an error from first baseman Daryl Jones.
The Florence Freedom battled on back to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth inning and the Evansville Otters mounted another comeback with a three run sixth inning.
Frank Meade blooped a two-run single to left field and Brandon Cohen hit a pinch hit sacrifice fly to go ahead 7-4.
The rebuttal from Florence came in the eighth inning against four different pitchers including a two-run single against Robert Romero.
He would stay in the game for the ninth inning as Michael Wheeler reached on a fielding error to start the inning. Beau Manning came in to pinch run and scored on a wild pitch to end the game.
Both teams are now 3-6 on the season and both clubs will have tomorrow off. The Evansville Otters return to action on Tuesday night with a game at the Traverse City Beach Bums at 7:05 PM EST.
The game can also be heard on the radio beginning at 6:50 PM on WUEV 91.5 FM. Announcer Mike Radomski will have the play by play with Bill McKeon providing the color commentary.
