Matt Zielinski re-signed with Evansville on April 12th, 2013.

The left-hander began his professional career with Evansville as a rookie in 2011, winning his first start on July 31st, a 4-1 victory against River City. Zielinski arguably threw his best appearance on August 30th, pitching seven shutout innings and recording a career high eight strikeouts. Matt excelled with Evansville and finished 2-2 with a 3.30 earned run average.
Zielinski finished 7-7 in 2012 with a 3.96 earned run average. He allowed less than a hit per inning, starting 18 games on the season.
Matt began his college career at the University of Richmond, finishing 17-11 in his time with the Spiders. While there, Zielinski started in 41 of the 45 games that he pitched in.
The lefty said that winning the 2008 Cape Cod Championship was his favorite baseball memory.
