Biography:

Outfielder Matt Sheely is making his Frontier League debut in his seventh season of professional baseball.

The Marietta, Georgia native was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 2006 MLB amateur draft.

After working his way through the minor league system, Sheely played the last two seasons with the AAA Pawtucket Red Sox.

In 50 games, he hit .223, including 14 runs scored and eight RBIs.

Known by his nickname "Thermo," Sheely's favorite part of playing in Evansville is his host mom.
